In the Southern Trust, we have a number of Infant Feeding Specialists who are responsible for leading the UNICEF Baby Friendly Standards across our maternity, neonatal and health visiting services.
This role involves training staff to enable them to provide the best support following the birth of your baby. Together, we work to support mothers, babies and families in the early days of infant feeding, ensuring they receive high quality, evidence-based care.
RuthI am the Community Infant Feeding Lead for Health Visiting.
In my role I lead the Baby Friendly Initiative for Community Health Visiting working in partnership with health visitors and midwifery colleagues to promote breastfeeding and increase breastfeeding rates.
I also provide a specialist breastfeeding service for mothers and babies in the community experiencing significant feeding issues.
