Some children repeat, stretch out or get stuck on sounds or words.
Stammering is when a person repeats, stretches-out, or gets stuck when trying to say a word or a sound. There might be other signs of tension e.g. clenching fists or eyes closed when speaking. A stammer can change from one day, hour or sentence, to the next. Stammering can also have an impact on a child’s thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.
