Our Vision and Strategy 2030

We are excited to have started the journey of developing our new long term corporate vision and strategy for the organisation.

Our aim is to collaborate with staff, service users, carers and all those with an interest in our services, to develop a strategy that meets the needs of our local population.

This year we celebrate 75 years of the NHS, a dynamic organisation continuing to develop in line with best practice and constantly striving for excellence. We have many staff successes and service innovations to be proud of right across the Southern Trust.

However, with ongoing workforce and financial pressures, unprecedented demand for health and social care and the challenge of rebuilding services as we emerge from the pandemic, the need for major transformation is as evident as ever.

We know that by working together and with support from all of our partners, we can build on and develop our successes to improve the lives of more local people into the future.

Huge thanks to all senior leadership colleagues who participated in workshops in Craigavon and Newry to kick start and pledge their support to the process. We are really encouraged by the initial thoughts and ideas that have been shared to shape our direction of travel. We are also meeting with Directorate teams and look forward to engaging with professional groups and staff right across the organisation in the coming weeks.

We really welcome the views of all colleagues as we work through this process so please watch this space for more information on how you can get involved.

Guiding principles

After our initial engagement we have now agreed the guiding principles of our strategy: • Ensuring safe care and improving quality is our top priority. • Maximise our potential and deliver best value. • We will follow through on our agreed actions. • Strengthen our relationship and listen to understand and learn. We welcome all feedback on these themes to base the development and roll out of the Vision and Strategy.
