The contraception service supports individuals to make informed choices in relation their own contraceptive and sexual health needs.
The service is confidential and is available to all genders, including young people under 16.

Once you submit the form your name will be added to the appropriate waiting list, and you will be contacted when an appointment is available.
You will be asked to provide details including your name, date of birth, two methods of contact, your health and care number (if available) and the name of your General Practitioner (Family Doctor).
We will then contact you when appointments are available. We will endeavour to offer you an appointment at a time and location convenient to you.
If you require emergency contraception a member of the clinical staff will allocate you the soonest, appropriate appointment.

MIRENA COIL UPDATE: The Mirena Coil has now been licensed to work for 8 years for contraception. If you had a coil fitted for contraception only and was previously told this would last 5/6 years, this coil can now be kept in for 8 years. However, please note if you are using this for contraception as well as heavy bleeding or HRT this may still need changed at 5 years and you will require a referral to Gynae or GP federation for this.

Emergency contraception can also be accessed free through some community pharmacies in Northern Ireland. Participating pharmacies are shown on this map.’ Community pharmacies can offer advice, support and if clinically appropriate emergency hormonal contraception to women who request emergency contraception under Pharmacy First. Free oral contraception (‘the pill’ and the ‘mini-pill’) and emergency contraception (‘the morning after pill’) can be accessed online for anyone aged 16 and over can order. Progesterone only pills (Hana and Lovima) are available to buy in pharmacies and online without prescription.
STI testing
Free, straightforward, confidential and in most cases you can do it from home. People with no symptoms and who are 16 and over can test online.
People with symptoms or people under 16 can get tested at a genitourinary medicine (GUM) clinic, and at some GP surgeries.
