Industrial Action

Industrial action – significant disruption to planned services

We are expecting significant disruption to our services as a result of planned industrial action on:
  • Thursday 25 June (7am–7am)
  • Monday 29 June (7am–7am)

Our priority is maintaining safe care for acutely unwell patients and urgent and emergency services.

Our message to patients and service users is to attend all scheduled appointments unless you are contacted by the Trust to advise otherwise.

Please only attend our Emergency Departments if you have serious symptoms that require hospital care, and call 999 if a patient you’re acutely unwell. Departments are likely to be busier than usual, and waiting times may be longer. Patients will be seen in order of clinical priority.

There are also significant numbers of patients in our beds who are medically fit for discharge. We are asking for support from patients and families to help ensure the sickest patients receive the care they need. Please leave hospital promptly when you are discharged and support loved ones to return home when they are medically fit.

Our staff will be working under enormous pressure during this time. We thank you for your understanding and kindness as we do everything we can to minimise disruption and maintain safe services.

  • Consider if your condition could be treated by your pharmacist or GP. If symptoms cannot wait until your GP reopens, call Out of Hours Tel: 028 3839 9201.
