Daisy Hill Midwifery-Led Unit (MLU) has welcomed almost 1,500 babies since it opened in 2014. It is located on the first floor adjacent to the Maternity Ward and offers two spacious birthing rooms with luxury birthing pools.
This unit is run by an excellent midwifery team who offer reassurance and provide a birth environment suited to your needs. The unit is staffed 24 /7 and we can facilitate water births, and water can be used as a means of pain relief during labour. Many people may be discharged home after six hours.
In our MLU we will provide one-to-one care from labour and birth through to the postnatal period, assisting with the transition to parenthood.
