The Birth at Home team was established in the Trust in November 2021, to provide a designated team to support this group of women.
‘Birth at home enables a woman to take ownership of her birth in familiar, relaxed surroundings.
To date (June 2023) there have been 77 referrals with an interest in birthing at home. As of this date there have been 49 of those mums who have had care with the team and whose babies have been born.
To organise/enquire about birth at home, you can self refer via email to birthathome@southerntrust.hscni.net .
At your booking appointment or as early as possible, ask your midwife to make a referral to the Birth at Home team.
