Set every August for the first seven days of the month, World Breastfeeding Week (WBW) aims to highlight the huge benefits that breastfeeding can bring to both the health and welfare of babies, as well as a wider push for maternal health, focusing on good nutrition, poverty reduction and food security. Since 2016, WBW is aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In the Southern Trust, we embrace WBW annually by raising awareness through events based on the annual theme, which changes each year.
This year our teams hosted a range of events celebrating World Breastfeeding Week.
