Eating drinking & swallowing

Learning to eat drink and swallow safely, is a developmental process like learning to walk or talk. Most babies and toddlers will start to wean at around 6-7 months and gradually increase the range of foods they eat as they grow. Some children have difficulties with eating drinking and swallowing due to medical or developmental reasons. Speech and Language therapists can assess the safety of eating and drinking skills and advise on safe swallow management.
