About our training
CST offers an Adult Safeguarding Awareness course for community and voluntary groups. This course is ideal for everyone involved with the group and aims to increase everyone’s awareness of adult harm and how to respond to concerns.

If you are working with adults at risk of harm, more detailed training for community and voluntary groups, including courses for Adult Safeguarding Champions, is available from Volunteer Now.

Volunteer Now are commissioned by the Local Adult Safeguarding Partnership to provide a small number of FREE training courses in the Southern area. Find out more by contacting them on 028 9023 2020 or view their training calendar online.
Key policy and guidance documents
Our training is based on these key regional documents:

- Procedures – NIASP Adult Safeguarding Operational Procedures: adults at risk of harm and adults in need of protection (HSCB 2016)

- Training Framework – Northern Ireland Adult Safeguarding Partnership Training Strategy (NIASP, 2013, revised 2016)
Adult Safeguarding Champions are required to complete an Annual Position Report for their organisation, based on the NIASP template and guidance:
