Policy and guidance documents
Our training courses are based on these key regional documents:
- Policy – Cooperating to Safeguard Children and Young People in Northern Ireland (DHSSPS, updated 2017)
- Procedures – Safeguarding Board NI Procedures Manual (effective from 1 December 2017)
- Guidance – Our Duty to Care (Volunteer Now, 2011)
- Standards – Getting it Right (Volunteer Now, 2011)
- Training framework – SBNI Child Safeguarding Learning and Development Strategy and Framework 2015-18
NSPCC has also developed useful checklists and resources to help your group safeguard children. (NB – some contain references to English policies, procedures or legislation so ensure they are amended in line with the above reference documents).
