Day Centres

Day Centres provide day care to people with a learning disability who have complex health care needs and / or behavioural support needs.

Each day centre has specially trained day care staff who are assisted by a multi- disciplinary team to provide a person-centred approach to assessment and care planning.

This ensures that the specific and complex needs of service users are met in the day centre environment.

Multi–disciplinary support includes psychiatry, psychology, physiotherapy, podiatry, occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, social work, community nursing and dental services.

Day care services are supported by service user advocates, learning disability carer consultants and carer representatives in the planning and delivery of day care.

We also commission day care services from independent providers based on service user needs.

Referrals to Day Care are received through Community case managers working within community teams and transition services.

Day care services are registered with RQIA.
