Through Southern Cycle for Health we now have five Cycle Pods in locations across the Southern area, hosted by the local district councils. The scheme aims to increase awareness of the health benefits of cycling.
Each Cycle Pod holds bikes and safety equipment to enable local community groups to encourage those who are inactive to start cycling. All Cycle Leaders trained through the Southern Trust have access to the pods and can facilitate their own cycling groups.
Clare Drummy, Physical Activity Coordinator says, “This is a fantastic resource for local communities which removes some of the barriers to becoming more active! I am keen to see more individuals trained and supporting groups to access these facilities on a regular basis.”
