The radiology teams in the Southern Trust have been awarded prestigious QSI accreditation.

The Quality Standard for Imaging from the UK Accreditation Service (UKAS) applies to imaging services across different sites within the organisation, including a wide range of specialist X-ray and scanning technologies.

QSI was developed by The Royal College of Radiologists and the College of Radiographers and sets out the criteria that defines a quality service.

Denise Newell, Head of Diagnostic Services said:

“This award demonstrates the hard work, dedication and teamwork of all our staff in ensuring we provide a safe and efficient service for our patients.

“The accreditation means that any service user can be assured our processes and procedures have been assessed so they meet the highest standards.”

Congratulating the teams, Barry Conway Assistant Director for Cancer and Clinical services added:

“QSI Accreditation sets a high level of performance for our radiology departments and we are incredibly proud to have been awarded this accreditation.

“It is a huge achievement, especially during a pandemic for our teams and a fantastic endorsement of the exceptionally high standards across our radiology departments.”
