22nd December 2025
This December an incredible 170 Southern Trust staff got into the Christmas spirit by taking part in the Daily Mile Santa Walk and Wheel on Thursday 4th December across our main sites in St Luke’s, Craigavon and Daisy Hill Hospitals. With Santa hats, Christmas jumpers and plenty of holiday cheer staff came together to show that wellbeing at work can be fun, festive and active.
The event was organised by the Physical activity Team and delivered by the workplace Wellbeing Team and Promoting Wellbeing Division colleagues. The event celebrated more than just walking, it was about connecting, community and wellbeing.
This highlighted the Trust’s dedication to supporting health and wellbeing. By participating in the event, staff showed their commitment to healthy living and an active workplace culture. Their enthusiasm highlights how small achievable steps like The Daily Mile can make a huge difference to the working day by improving focus, concentration and productivity.
We would like to thank all our fabulous staff members who attended on the day as well as those who delivered the walks. The success of the Daily Mile Santa Walk and Wheel is just the beginning. We are excited to see how we can build on this momentum throughout the year.
We wish you all a very happy, healthy and an active Christmas!
