The Sleep Investigations team wish to update patients that a mask manufacturer has recently issued a Field Safety Notice (“FSN”).
The affected masks are all manufactured by Resmed and contain magnets (N10, N20, F20, F30 and F30i). Here is a link to the FSN which contains details of the affected masks.
Please immediately check all masks you may have (including those in use, spares and any older masks) and follow the below guidance:
- If you are NOT using one of the masks listed on the enclosed FSN you can ignore this notification
- If you ARE using one of the masks listed on the FSN but you or your bed partner, that may be in close proximity to you, DO NOT HAVE an implanted device or metallic object in the body you can continue to use your mask as normal
- If you ARE using one of the masks listed on the FSN AND you or your bed partner, who may be in close proximity (less than 6 inches) to you, DO HAVE an implanted medical device or metallic object in the body
