World Breastfeeding Week 2026

This August, families, communities and health professionals across the region will come together to celebrate World Breastfeeding Week 2026. This year’s theme, “Breastfeeding for a Sustainable Start in Life: Strengthen What Works,” highlights the importance of building on the support, services and community networks that help babies and families thrive.

Join us for a range of local events taking place throughout World Breastfeeding Week, 1st to 7th August, including walks, tea parties, drop-in support sessions, and opportunities to connect with other mums. Whether you are expecting a baby, currently breastfeeding, or supporting a breastfeeding family, everyone is welcome to take part.

Keep an eye on this page for event details, locations and times, and help us celebrate the positive impact of breastfeeding on children, families and communities. We look forward to seeing you there!
