The Southern Trust is delighted to introduce a new line of hybrid vehicles.
The eight new green cars will be used by learning disability services across the area to bring service users to events and day care centres.
Hybrid vehicles burn less fuel and emit less air pollutants. The cars combine advanced fuel efficiency with cutting-edge design, offering service users an eco-conscious alternative without compromising comfort, style or transport experience.

Jan McGall, Director of Mental Health and Disability who is also responsible for transport explains:
“As such large organisation we want to be at the forefront of delivering sustainable healthcare.
“With thousands of staff, a vast estate and large vehicle fleet transporting service users and supplies, the Trust has as significant role in building a healthcare system that cares for people and the planet.
“Through our sustainability strategy we have a number of environmental priorities, for example waste management, developing more green spaces and promoting biodiversity.
“To help reduce fuel emissions, we are working hard to develop a more sustainable transport system, for instance by developing electric charging points in car parks and supporting staff to think of alternative options for travel to and from work.
“We are very excited to introduce this range of hybrid cars in our drive to reduce our carbon footprint and hope service users enjoy their journeys in this new eco-friendly transport.”
