A new artwork has been unveiled in our Bluestone facility at Craigavon Area Hospital.
Co-ordinated by the Mental Health Forum, the piece was donated by Newry artist, Mark Byrne.
The Mental Health Forum is an independent, user-led charity that provides information, advice and signposting on mental health issues in the Southern Trust area.

Mark, a service user, worked with the staff of the organisation and Bluestone to secure a suitable final home for the painting so that it can uplift and inspire others.
An image of the piece was originally selected to feature in the first edition of the Forum’s ‘Flights of Hope’ Project Book. Mark generously then shared the framed original so that it could be displayed and enjoyed within the foyer of the building. The second edition of the book was also launched at the event.
Joe Walker, Assistant Director for Mental Health and Intellectual Disability Inpatients said:
“Creating a welcoming and comfortable environment is an important part of providing a positive experience for everyone within Bluestone. This is reflected in our Vision and Strategy commitment to putting people and their experiences at the heart of the services that we provide.
“Artwork can make a real difference to how a space feels and this piece brings colour, character and a sense of calm to our foyer. We are very grateful for this generous donation and for the opportunity to display such a meaningful piece.”
