Siblings saddle up for 90 mile challenge

13th December 2019

A ninety mile cycle by a brother and sister has raised over £1500 for the Southern Trust’s Acute Services Fund.

Keara Sheridan and Michael Nicholl, son and daughter of Teresa Nicholl, wanted to raise funds after their mother had received outstanding outpatient care in Daisy Hill Renal Unit before her passing in May of this year.

Keara and Michael completed the Lap the Lough, a 90 mile cycle round Lough Neagh, starting and ending in Moy, on Sunday 25 August this year.

They would like to thank everyone who donated; family members, friends, neighbours, work colleagues and local businesses.

They also raised a further £1,500 for Kidney Research NI.

Keara is pictured donating the cheque to Kay Donegan (Ward manager Renal Department Daisy Hill Hospital) and Doreen Johnston (Kidney Research NI). Also in the photo are Bertie Smyth and May Morris (Kidney Research NI), Vicky Toner & Dympna Sands (Renal outpatient staff, nurse specialists, Renal home Therapies team Liz Nugget (nurse specialist) and Louise Morris (Renal home therapies Assistant) and Kellie Heatley (Renal secretary).
