Trust appeals for renewed effort to fight Covid-19 following second incident at hospital25th August 2020
The Southern Health and Social Care Trust has confirmed a second cluster of Covid-19 in Craigavon Area Hospital.
The cluster has been identified on the Haematology ward.
One member of staff has tested positive and 3 close staff contacts are self-isolating as a precaution.
12 patients on the Haematology ward have been tested, 5 of these patients tested positive and 1 further haematology in-patient identified.
The ward is currently closed to admission.
Trust staff are working closely with the Public Health Agency to manage the situation and the safety of both patients and staff remains a priority.
There will be no routine visiting to the ward until further notice unless in exceptional circumstances.

Interviews can be arranged on request via zoom with Dr Sara Hedderwick, Consultant Microbiologist between 3.30pm – 5pm.
