The Fit 4 U 2 service provides physical activity opportunities for people with a learning disability.
The Fit 4 U service provides daytime physical activities and sports for adults with disabilities in Leisure Centres across the Southern Trust, with the overall aim of improving health and wellbeing.
Programmes take place in Leisure Centres in Armagh, Dungannon, Craigavon, Banbridge, Newry and Mourne. Programmes include a mix of group exercise and inclusive sports e.g. boccia, indoor golf, badminton, archery and kurling, which are adapted to meet needs of participants.
There is a Fit 4 U service for adults with physical and/or sensory disabilities and a Fit 4 U 2 service for adults with a learning disability, who live in the Southern Trust area.
Fit 4 U operates via a referral process.
Fit 4 U is funded by the Public Health Agency and led by the Southern Trust in partnership with other organisations.
MAY is National Walking Month. Walking has huge benefits to health and walking in greenspace and parks is even better. There will be weekly walks in each locality to celebrate Walk This May.
There will also be a weekly online exercise session available.
Individuals need to be registered to participate.
